Detailed description

A practical set for a more economical household

„Waxed packaging is a popular sustainable option for food packaging at home and on travels. For everyone who appreciates their ecological benefits and practicality, we have created a convenient set that will help save nature and your wallet. It contains two waxed napkins of different sizes and one waxed bag for maximum variability. The whole set has a uniform design with a beautiful motif of meadow flowers and insects.“

What can you use waxed napkins for?

You can use them to pack snacks for school, work, and on travels, unconsumed food in the fridge - leftover cheese, chopped vegetables and fruit; to cover an open can or bowl with a spread, you can even cover a tray with a cake or leftovers from lunch with a large napkin.

If you are dining outside, you can use napkins to cover a pitcher of lemonade against insects or cover a plate with canapés or sliced cheeses. There are simply no limits to the use of napkins! Just don't use it to wrap raw meat in it.

What can you use a waxed bag for?

Its use is simple and quick - just fold and seal its upper edge. It is great for easy and quick packing of baked goods (compared to a cloth bag, it restricts the access of air more, so that the baked goods do not dry out, and on the other hand, compared to a plastic bag, it allows the baked goods to breathe, so it reduces its getting moist or mouldy, however, for fresh baked goods, it is good to leave the bag 2 - 3 days slightly open), fruits and vegetables, hard cheeses, fresh herbs, you can pack smaller containers in it for which you don't have lids, e.g., a bowl with salad, spread, etc. It is also suitable for packing smaller and loose foods, e.g., muesli, biscuits, nuts, dried fruit, etc. Do not use to pack raw meat.

How to care for waxed covers

After each use, gently shake out the bag or wrap. If necessary, wipe it with a damp cloth or rinse it under running cold to lukewarm water, then let it dry at room temperature. Do not dry the wrap or bag on a heater or in direct sunlight, and avoid placing them near hot objects or drinks. You can also gently pat them dry with a cloth. Do not use them to heat food in a conventional or microwave oven, do not place them in the dishwasher, and do not cut on them.

Over time, both wraps and bags will develop a natural patina, with creases and minor stains possibly appearing. Slight wear does not affect their functionality. To extend their lifespan, you can repair minor wear by placing the wrap or bag on baking paper and heating it in an oven preheated to approx. 80 - 100 °C for about 1 minute. The wax should not be overheated (this could darken the material); it should only melt just enough to unify and absorb into the fabric.

If either the wrap or bag shows more significant wear, you can sprinkle it with grated beeswax and bake it in the oven in the same way. Since they have already been treated with resin once, you do not need to add resin again; wax alone is sufficient. With regular use, wraps and bags will last for about a year. When they are no longer usable, you can cut them into strips and either dispose of them or compost them.
