Detailed description

Practical and environmentally friendly

„We have expanded the range of popular waxed napkins to include these practical waxed bags. Their use is similar to that of napkins, but the design of the bag facilitates their use and offers additional possibilities for food packaging at home and on the go.“

Lukáš Pleva business development

What can you use a waxed bag for?

Its use is simple and quick - just fold and seal its upper edge. It is great for easy and quick packing of baked goods (compared to a cloth bag, it restricts the access of air more, so that the baked goods do not dry out, and on the other hand, compared to a plastic bag, it allows the baked goods to breathe, so it reduces its getting moist or mouldy, however, for fresh baked goods, it is good to leave the bag 2 - 3 days slightly open), fruits and vegetables, hard cheeses, fresh herbs, you can pack smaller containers in it for which you don't have lids, e.g., a bowl with salad, spread, etc. It is also suitable for packing smaller and loose foods, e.g., muesli, biscuits, nuts, dried fruit, etc. Do not use to pack raw meat.

How to care for a beeswax bag?

After each use, gently shake out the bag. If necessary wipe it with a damp cloth or rinse under running cold to lukewarm water and let it dry at room temperature. Do not dry the bag on a heater or in direct sunlight, and do not place it near hot objects or drinks. You can also gently dry it with a cloth. Do not use it for heating food in a conventional or microwave oven, do not put it into a dishwasher, and do not cut on it.

After some time of use, the bag acquires a natural patina, and creases and minor stains may appear on it. Slight wear does not affect the functionality of the bag. If you want to extend its service life, you can repair minor wear – place the bag on baking paper and heat it in an oven preheated to approx. 80 - 100 °C for approx. 1 minute. The wax must not be burnt (it would darken the bag); it should only melt enough to unite and soak into the bag.

If it wears more, you can sprinkle it with grated beeswax and then bake it in the oven in the same way. Since it has already been treated with resin once, you don't need it again, so wax is enough. Slight wear does not affect the functionality of the bag. With frequent use, the bag will last quite a long time, about a year. Then you can cut it into strips and throw it away or compost it.
