Detailed description

Practical and environmentally friendly

„Practical waxed napkins are a great aid for packing food that keeps it fresh longer, whether at home or on the go. In addition, they will help reduce the amount of waste in your home. We use them to package snacks, cheeses, bakery products, but also as a very practical and variable lid for various containers.“

How to care for waxed napkins?

After each use, tap out the napkin, if necessary wipe it with a damp cloth or rinse under running cold to lukewarm water and let it dry at room temperature. Do not dry such napkin on a heater or in direct sunlight, and do not place it near hot objects or drinks. You can also gently dry it with a cloth. Do not use for heating food in a conventional or microwave oven, do not put into a dishwasher and do not cut on it.

After some time of use, the napkin acquires a natural patina, creases and minor stains appear on it. Slight wear does not affect the functionality of the napkin. If you want to extend its service life, you can repair minor wear – place the napkin on baking paper and heat it in an oven preheated to approx. 80 - 100 °C for approx. 1 minute. The wax must not be burnt (it would darken the napkin), it is only allowed to melt so that it unites and soaks into the napkin.

If it wears more, you can sprinkle it with grated beeswax and then bake it in the oven in the same way. Since it has already been treated with resin once, you don't need it again, so wax is enough. With frequent use, napkins will last quite a long time, about a year. Then you can cut it into strips and throw it away or compost it.

What can you use waxed napkins for?

You can use them to pack snacks for school, work, and on travels, unconsumed food in the fridge - leftover cheese, chopped vegetables and fruit; to cover an open can or bowl with a spread, you can even cover a tray with a cake or leftovers from lunch with a large napkin.

If you are dining outside, you can use napkins to cover a pitcher of lemonade against insects or cover a plate with canapés or sliced cheeses. There are simply no limits to the use of napkins! Just don't use it to wrap raw meat in it.
