Perga Bee Pollen in 72% Dark Chocolate

Taste bee bread or perga pollen

Perga pollen, nicknamed bee bread, is one of the rarest and most valuable products that industrious bees can create. It is fermented flower pollen that contains honey and bee enzymes. Bees make it by layering pollen loads into honeycombs and tamping it down with their heads. Then they add honey and enzymatic secretions from their glands between the individual layers of pollen. All of this then ferments together in honeycombs. This process increases the nutritional value of pollen and improves its digestibility.

Enjoy the unique taste of pollen

The taste of flower pollen depends on the species of flower it comes from. It can therefore be slightly different each time. However, it generally has a sweet taste with floral notes, sometimes with a slightly bitter touch, other times with a hint of honey sweetness. However, perga pollen still tastes a little different. Its taste is richer and due to fermentation, it acquires a subtle tinge of acidity. In combination with dark chocolate, you simply cannot resist it!

Honest chocolate made from cocoa beans

Such a wonder of nature like perga pollen cannot be combined with anything other than honest cocoa bean chocolate. We have therefore joined forces with Lukáš and Jirka from the Jordi's workshop, who were the first in the Czech Republic to start manufacturing chocolate directly from cocoa beans, the so-called bean to bar chocolate. Their goal is to get the best out of the cocoa beans and pass it on to chocolate lovers in the least altered form possible.

They first sort the beans by hand, then roast them and remove the peels. Cleaned cocoa beans are put into a stone mill, in which smooth and shiny 100% chocolate is created after roughly 24 hours of grinding. At the end, cane sugar is added to give it a sweeter taste.
